Learning Technologies
SIMPro3 Reach Truck Simulator

The reach truck simulator allows operators to test their competencies at different difficulty levels and under various working conditions. Tasks such as performing precise maneuvers in narrow aisles, transporting and stacking loads on high shelves are taught through realistic scenarios on the simulator. This training prepares operators for the challenges they may encounter in the workplace.

Thanks to the real side reach truck equipment and detailed scenario content on the simulator, operator candidates receive comprehensive and effective training. The reach truck simulator helps operators learn critical operational knowledge such as mast controls, maneuvering techniques and accident prevention strategies.

The reach truck simulator offers a cost-effective and safe training option. Mistakes made with real reach truck machines can lead to financial losses and safety risks. However, training with the simulator minimizes these risks and provides a safer learning environment. Additionally, simulator training allows operator candidates to learn at their own pace. With flexible and customizable training modules, it offers a training experience tailored to each operator's individual learning needs. This personalized approach enables operators to develop their competencies more quickly and effectively.

Simulator Highlights

The reach truck simulator is designed to train qualified forklift operators by offering rich and comprehensive lesson content to operator candidates. The simulator includes various scenarios aimed at teaching advanced usage techniques and safety measures, along with detailed lesson materials covering all aspects of the vehicle.

The simulator provides an affordable, reliable and realistic learning environment, giving operators the opportunity to practice and improve their skills. Various scenarios allow quick transitions to all types of working conditions (environmental conditions, load types, ground conditions, weather conditions, working hours). This ensures that operator candidates are prepared for different working conditions.

The fully equipped cabin accurately and precisely conveys vehicle responses to operators. This cabin, which fully simulates physical inputs, features ergonomic properties such as an adjustable seat, seatbelt and armrests. A touch screen that manages reach truck control, monitoring of values and changing settings provides realistic calculations of engine RPM, torque and hydraulic pressure. Additionally, it includes a system that allows users to accurately identify and track materials and loads.

The reach truck simulator accurately conveys responses such as steering, acceleration and braking to operators. The simulator's reactions, identical to those of a real machine, help operators perform better in real job sites.

The reach truck simulator offers 3DOF or 6DOF motion platform options. These motion platforms provide operators with varying levels of movement freedom, delivering a realistic driving experience. The simulator creates customized training plans tailored to the operators' skills and needs. These plans are shaped according to the student's strengths and weaknesses, providing a personalized training experience.

Instructors can evaluate the performance and skills of operators by monitoring the simulator environment from different camera angles.

Cyclical scenarios, which allow operators to continuously improve their skills are offered at different difficulty levels. Additionally, all parameters related to the operator's development are reported and instructors are given the opportunity to monitor the training area from various camera angles. All control placements are identical to those in the actual vehicle, preparing operators for real forklift usage.

Software Features

The vehicle's dynamic responses are extremely realistic, making users feel as if they are operating a real side forklift.

The engine model of the vehicle is based on the pedal-rev-torque data provided by the engine manufacturer. Gear ratios are created using real data provided by the gearbox manufacturer.

Details such as the damping and attenuation characteristics of the wheels, the strain under load and the drop in engine RPM are mathematically modeled. Models include engine RPM, steering system, torque converter and braking system.

The simulator includes five different drag models (Box, Scaled Box, Box Proportional Low, Box Proportional High, Scaled Box Fast) across two linear axes and three angular axes. These models simulate various driving scenarios realistically.

The simulation operates according to the exact starting procedures of the real vehicle.

Fuel consumption data matches the data provided by the engine manufacturer, simulating real fuel consumption during training.

Environmental elements used in the simulation are detailed enough to maintain a sense of realism without straining system resources.

Realism is provided by simulating sun, date and time with corresponding day and night conditions. There are also different lighting sets for conditions such as rain, snow, fog and cloudy weather.

There are real-time soft shadows on the ground.

All lights of the vehicles and ambient lights are modeled realistically.

Texture rendering-based images are created for mirrors and camera systems, providing visual feedback to operators.

Motion Platform Options

The reach truck simulator comes with different options such as a stationary platform, a 3DOF motion platform and a 6DOF motion platform. Each platform option is designed to meet the diverse training needs of users. The platforms allow operators to prepare for real-world working environments.

Real Time Graphics and Visuals

Thanks to detailed graphics and realistic visuals, operators encounter various scenarios during the simulation and can experience real-world conditions. Real-time graphics and visuals allow operators to simulate different weather conditions, times of day and seasons. The simulation helps operators learn how to work in various conditions and understand how to adapt to them.

Steering and Joysticks

In the reach truck simulator, the steering wheel and control levers are essential components designed to mimic the real reach truck experience as closely as possible. The ergonomic and highly sensitive steering wheel replicates the feel of a real reach truck steering wheel, providing the operator with a natural driving experience. Steering movements are instantly and accurately reflected in the simulation.

Virtual Reality Support

Virtual reality (VR) support enhances the training process by providing operators with a realistic experience. With the integration of VR technology into the simulator, operators can experience real-world scenarios and situations through simulations.

Fully Equipped Cabin

The reach truck simulator's fully equipped cabin is designed to best mimic the experience of operating a real reach truck. The cabin is configured to match the interior of a real reach truck as closely as possible. Making the operator's training process more effective and comfortable. The cabin features sound and haptic feedback capabilities.

Study Reports

During the simulation, instructors can monitor operators' actions and performance in real-time. They assess the operator's performance in various areas such as speed, load control, maneuverability, precision and safety. Providing reports based on these measurements. The data helps identify the operator's strengths and weaknesses. The simulator presents the operator's performance and progress in detailed reports.

Quantification and Consideration

The reach truck simulator includes a reporting module that can generate outputs in HTML or PDF formats containing the following information at the end of the scenario. The reporting system eliminates record-keeping confusion and makes training more efficient.
